Rear Admiral Ioannis Pattas ΗΝ

HNDGS

Rear Admiral Ioannis Pattas PN was born in Athens in 1965. He joined the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1983 and graduated in 1987 as Ensign of the Hellenic Navy.

His operational service includes various strike units of the Hellenic Navy, 8 years of which as a Commander of HS ANDROMEDA, HS ANTONIOU, HS KAVALOUDIS and F/G HYDRA.

During his staff assignments he served, as Operations and Staff Director at the Hellenic Navy Frigate Command, as Head of Education Department (B2-III) of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, as Director of Naval Training and as a Deputy Commander of Hellenic Naval Academy, as Director of the Training Directorate (B2) of Hellenic Navy General Staff and as a Commander of the Hellenic Surveilance ships Command.

He served as Director of the Middle East Department at the NATO Intelligence Fusion Center in Mollesworth, Great Britain.

As a senior officer, he has served as Commander of the Hellenic Naval Command Aegean, Director of the Public Relations Directorate and Director of the Human Resources Directorate at the Hellenic National Defense General Staff and as Commander of the Hellenic Naval Education Command.

In March 2022, he was appointed as Superintendent of the Hellenic Naval Academy (HNA).

He holds an MSc in Man Power System Analysis (NPS-MONTEREY)

He is a graduate of the, the Naval War School, the Hellenic Supreme Joint War College and the National Defense College.

He has been awarded with all medals and decorations of the Hellenic Armed Forces stipulated for an officer of his rank.

He is married.

He speaks the English language.
