Vice Admiral Charilaos Papadimitriou HN

Commander of the Hellenic Navy Logistics

Vice Admiral (Eng) Charilaos Papadimitriou GRHN, was born in Athens Greece, on March 30th 1966. He graduated from the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1987 and was specialized as a Naval Engineer.

He holds the Mechanical Engineer degree as well as the Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME), both obtained by the US Naval Postgraduate School (NPS).

He is a graduate of the Hellenic National Defense College.

During his sea duty assignments he served mainly on Frigates and Gunboats with duties ranging from those of Propulsion officer, up to the ones of Chief Engineer.

During his shore and staff assignments, he served at various posts of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS), the Hellenic Navy General Staff (HNGS) and the General Directorate of Defense Investments and Armaments (GDDIA). Inter alia he was Aide de Camp to the Chief of the Hellenic Navy, Commanding Officer of the Naval Detachment at Elefsis Shipyards premises, R&D Director of GDDIA, Commanding Officer of Salamis Naval Base, Director of the Directorate of Infrastructure and Environmental Policy of HNDGS and Director of the Armaments Directorate of HNGS. Stationed abroad he served as Liaison Officer of the Hellenic Navy at the BWB (Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung) premises in Germany.

He has been awarded with all medals, decorations and commendations stipulated for an officer of his rank.

Since March 2022 he serves as Commanding Officer of the Hellenic Navy Logistics.

He is married and has two daughters.
