The 14th Adriatic – Ionian Initiative (ADRION) Seminar was conducted in Athens, Greece from 06 to 08 March 2017. The Seminar is held on a yearly basis and includes meetings of both the Initiative’s Steering Group (SG) and the Operational Working Group (OWG). In the sidelines of the Seminar, the ADRION CAX/LIVEX Main Planning Conference (MPC) also took place, with the CAX/LIVEX events being hosted by Greece in June 2017.
In this years’ Seminar, the topics of discussion concerned the further enhancement of the interoperability and operational co-operation among the participating Navies.
The ADRION Initiative Nations are Albania, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia. Its scope is to establish co-operation procedures among Navies as appropriate and necessary, in order to address contemporary security challenges in the wider area of the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, in a common and comprehensive way.
