Exercise “ADRION LIVEX – CAX 2017”

From June 20th to June 30th 2017, the multinational exercise “ADRION LIVEX – CAX 2017” will take place in the maritime area of Crete Island, in the context of Adriatic-Ionian Initiative – ADRION.

The exercise “ADRION LIVEX – CAX” constitutes the main activity of ADRION and is conducted annually, with the participation of all member states (Albania, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia)

The objective of the exercise is to promote the cooperation and mutual understanding and to enhance interoperability among the Navies of ADRION, through the execution of exercises and a scenario that addresses security challenges in the wider area of the Adriatic and the Ionian seas.

The exercise will be conducted in four (4) phases as follows:

Phase I (20 June 2017): Arrival of ships – Force Assembly to the Crete Naval Base.

Phase ΙΙ (21 to 26 June 2017):

  • Computer Assisted Exercise – CAX at the NMIOTC, Souda Naval Base (21 to 23 June 2017).
  • Crew training at the NMIOTC.
  • DV/MEDIA-DAY on 26 June 2017, where the Hellenic Navy will be represented by the Deputy Chief of the Fleet, Rear Admiral Efthymios Mikros HN.

Phase ΙΙΙ (26 to 30 June 2017): LIVEX.

Phase IV (30 June 2017): Completion of the exercise – Hot Wash Up – ΗWU at the NMIOTC.
