From Monday 6th to Tuesday day 7th November 2017, a Passing Exercise (PASEX) among units of the Hellenic Navy and units of the Standing NΑΤΟ Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG-2) was conducted in the sea area of the Saronic Gulf.
The Hellenic Navy participated with the minehunter HS KALIPSO (M64) and a helicopter (S70B, Aegean Hawk). The Allied forces took part with the HMS ENTERPRISE (the SNMCMG-2 flagship), the HMS PEMBROKE and the ITS CROTONE.
The cooperation focused on technical exercises of countermine operations, countering asymmetric threats, technical/tactical communication and advanced maneuvering exercises. It also enhanced the operational capabilities and readiness of all participants and promoted the cooperation and mutual understanding among participants at Allied level.
