Leon Kalogeropoulos studied near his father, painter and byzantinologist, Nikolaos Kalogeropoulos and later he studied in France. He worked almost exclusively on seascapes. He emphasizes on the atmospherical attribution of the marine element and especially in the form taken by the water under the influence of light.
