From Tuesday, November 26 to Thursday, November 28, 2024, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN, paid an official visit to Romania, at the invitation of his counterpart, Vice Admiral Mihai Panait.
During his visit, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff had the opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest, bilateral military cooperation, as well as further strengthening the cooperation between the two Navies. He also met with the Chief of Defence of Romania, General Gheorghiță Vlad.
As part of his briefing on developments and activities of the Romanian Navy, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff visited the Romanian Naval Academy, where he gave a speech to its cadets. He visited the Romanian Maritime Hydrographic Directorate, as well as the Constanța Naval Base, where he was guided to Frigate REGINA MARIA (F222), Submarine DELFINUL (S-521), Minehunter ION GHICULESCU (M270) and training Sailing Ship MIRCEA.
Finally, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff had the opportunity to meet with the Greek Ambassador to Bucharest, Mrs. Evangelia Grammatika.
