Rear Admiral Konstantinos Tourkantonis HN was born in Athens on 18 July 1969. He entered the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1987 and graduated as an Ensign (Line Officer) in 1991.
Following his initial service onboard Destroyer KRIEZIS, he served for fourteen consecutive years in Hellenic Navy submarines (1994–2007). In particular, he served as Executive Officer of Submarine NIREUS (S-111) (2000–2003) and as Commanding Officer of Submarine TRITON (S-112) (2004–2007).
Upon completion of his sea service, he was appointed Section Head at Hellenic Navy General Staff (G1 Directorate), responsible for the financial planning of major armament programs. He subsequently served as Head of the Innovations Office at Hellenic Navy General Staff (2011–2014), responsible for the implementation of Management by Objectives systems, and later as Director of Human Resources, HNGS/B1 (2020–2021).
In the interim, he served at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) (2014–2017) as Staff Officer J7 (Plans and Policy).
Returning to the Submarines Command, he served as Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Navy Submarines Command (2017–2019) and subsequently as Commander of the Hellenic Navy Submarines Command (2021–2022).
He then served as Director of Submarine Programs, HNGS/Armaments Directorate (2022–2025), and as Deputy Director of the Armaments Directorate (2025–2026).
In January 2026, upon his promotion to Rear Admiral, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Navy Logistic Support Command.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Naval Postgraduate School (2007–2009) and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Security Studies from Panteion University (2019–2021).
He is a graduate of the Hellenic Joint Supreme War College (2010–2011) and the Hellenic National Defence College (2019–2020).
He has been awarded all medals, decorations and commendations prescribed for his rank and service.
He is married and has one son and one daughter. He speaks English and French.
