On Sunday 12 to Friday 17 of January 2014, HNGS Chief Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis HN, paid an official visit to USA, during which he discussed issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation with the US Secretary of Navy Mr Ray Mabus, the US Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Jonathan Greenert, the Commander of US Fleet Forces Admiral William Gortney, the Deputy Commander of the Supreme Allied Command Transformation (SACT) Italian Lieutenant General Mirco Zuliani and the Chief of Staff of SACT British Lieutenant General Phil Jones.
Following this, other meetings / briefings occurred at the Pentagon. Moreover, HNGS Chief visited the US Office of Naval Intelligence and National Maritime Intelligence Office. Furthermore, Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis HN, visited the Greek Ambassador in the U.S., Mr. Christos Panagopoulos. Finally HNGS Chief had the opportunity to meet with Officers of the Hellenic Navy, who serve in the surrounding area of Washington and Norfolk.
