On Wednesday 11th and Thursday the 12th of May, Chief of the Hellenic Navy Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis HN, participated in the Conference of Chiefs οf European Navies held by the Romanian Navy in Bucharest. CHENS is a forum, looking to promote the cooperation between members and interchange of opinions between the Chiefs of European Navies. The meeting was attended by 25 heads of naval forces from European countries that are members of the EU or NATO, and the Commanders of NATO’s Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) and the US Fleet VI deployed in Europe, as oobservers. On May 11th all attendees were received by the Minister of National Defence Mr. Vasile Dîncu. The Chief of the Hellenic Navy held meetings with his counterparts of the Italian, Bulgarian and Romanian Navy, the Commander of the 6th fleet of the USA Navy Forces, the Fleet Commander of the Royal Navy, with whom he discussed maters of mutual interest as well as prospects of further developing of bilateral relations.
CHENS 2023 will be hosted by Ireland.
