On Thursday, 20 November 2025, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN, also representing the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, presented the Medal of Commendation “Worth and Honor” to the Commander of the Royal Jordanian Navy, Colonel Hisham Khaleel Aljarrah, during a special ceremony held at Hellenic Naval Academy.
The Commander of the Royal Jordanian Navy is a graduate of the Hellenic Naval Academy, Class of 2002 and the aforementioned commendation was awarded in recognition of his promotion to a distinguished position in his country’s military hierarchy.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Jordan to Greece, Mr. Zuhair Ensour, the Director of Branch Β of the HNDGS, Rear Admiral Panagiotis Papageorgiou HN, the Commander of Hellenic Naval Academy, Rear Admiral Stavros Karlatiras HN, a delegation of officers who graduated from the HNA, Class of 2002, as well as Jordanian cadets from the Hellenic Army Academy, the Hellenic Naval Academy, and the Hellenic Air Force Academy.
