History

The Landing Ship of the “BARBE” class 520a (L-169), formerly L-794 FORELLE, was built at Nobiskrug Shipyard in Hamburg, West Germany, in 1966. The vessel belongs to the LCU (Landing Craft Utility) type.

She was received by Hellenic Navy and the Greek flag was raised on 21-02-1990. Since then, she has been used as an amphibious operations vessel, supporting the missions of the Underwater Demolition Command.
