History

  • Water Tanker HS KALLIRROI (Α-468), whose international call sign is  SZΖW, has been built at the KORONAIOS Shipyards in Perama, Attica.
  • It has been received by the Hellenic Navy on the 4th of September  in 1972.
  • The ship has since been assigned to the auxiliary ships of the Navy’s Logistics Command, docked at the Salamis Naval Base. In 1991, the ship was transferred at Souda Naval Base, remaining in commission to this day, having  the mission of carrying out water supply of the Armed Forces bases as well as the arid islands of the eastern Aegean Sea.
  • Her name comes from the homonymous spring that supplied water to the city of Athens.
