He studied in the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and continued his studies in Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His painting has as subject landscapes, portraits, dead natures, allegorical compositions and seascapes. He presented his work in several solo and group exhibitions.

The painting “Storm” is included in the thematic region of seascape, a type in which Grivas was distinguished particularly. In the particular composition the entire absence of human form intensifies the sense of magnificence but also loneliness that the representation exudes. The colour, in dark blue [tonicalities, unfolds with wide, comfortable brushstrokes.
