From 12 to 13 November, the HNGS Chief Vice Admiral George Giakoumakis HN, attended the Maritime Security Conference, in Nicosia, Cyprus.
This conference was organized by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus and the European Defence Agency (EDA). The main theme of the conference was “The Challenges, Benefits and Opportunities of the European Union Maritime Security Strategy” and focused on the challenges of the European Strategy for maritime safety. On the sidelines of the conference, Chief Vice Admiral George Giakoumakis HN met with counterparts, where they discussed issues of mutual interest.
In the margin of his visit to Cyprus the HNGS Chief visited the camp and the museum of ELDYK, the military cemetery and the imprisoned graves.
