On Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 of February 2014, the United Kingdom Naval Staff Chief, Admiral Sir George Zambellas, paid an official visit to Greece, following an invitation extended by the HNGS Chief, Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis HN.
During his stay, Admiral Sir George Zambellas discussed issues of mutual interest with the HNGS Chief. Additionally, he visited the Fleet HQs, several warships and Naval Dock Crete.
He also visited the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) in Chania Crete, where he was informed by the Commandant of NMIOTC Commodore Ioannis Pavlopoulos HN, about the mission, roles and activities of NMIOTC, focusing in training delivered to Royal Navy units.
