From Thursday 18th to Friday March 19th , 2021, the Chief of the Naval Staff of the French Navy (Marine Nationale) Admiral (Amiral) Pierre Vandier paid an official visit to Greece.
On Friday 19th the Chief of HNGS Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis welcomed his counterpart at the Hellenic Navy HQ, where they discussed issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.
Consequently Admiral Vandier visited the Hellenic Fleet Maritime Operation Center, where he was welcomed by the the Chief of the Hellenic Fleet Vice Admiral Panagiotis Lymperis , who briefed him on the Fleet’s activities.
Throughout the visit, the strong ties between the French and the Hellenic Navy were reaffirmed along with their significance to the promotion of safety and stability in the East Mediterranean region, recently highlighted by the participation of Hellenic Naval Units to the French TF-473 during the «CLEMENCEAU 21» operation.
