Rear Admiral (Finance) Dimitrios Palaskas HN was born in Athens in 1966.

He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in 1989, and the following year, he was admitted to the Hellenic Naval Academy, from which he graduated and was commissioned as a Supply Ensign of the Hellenic Navy, in 1991.

He has served as a logistics support officer on board at several surface units and also at NATO Headquarters in Tirana, as a staff officer in various financial and supply services of the Hellenic Navy, as Deputy Director and Director at the Supply Directorate of Crete of the Hellenic Navy Supply Center, as Director of Financial Services at the Athens Naval Hospital, as Director of Branch E΄ of the Hellenic Fleet Command and as Budget Director of the Hellenic Navy General Staff.

As a senior officer, he has served as Commander of the Hellenic Navy Supply Center and also as Director of Branch E΄ of the Hellenic Navy General Staff .

In January 2025, he was promoted to Rear Admiral and was assigned the duties of Director of Financial Services and Auditing Division /  Finance Inspection of the Hellenic Navy General Staff.

He is a graduate of the Naval Staff Officer School, the School of Computer Analysts – Programmers and the Hellenic National Defense College.

Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Logistics Management obtained by the Florida Institute of Technology (USA).

Rear Admiral Dimitrios Palaskas HN has been awarded with all Greek Armed Forces’ designated medals, decorations and commendations stipulated for an officer of his rank.

He is married and has two children, a daughter and a son.

He speaks English and Italian.
