HNGS Chief attends the annual memorial ceremony, in honor of the Allied troops fallen at Callipolis Campaign

On April 7 2014, HNGS Chief, Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis HN, attended the annual memorial ceremony, honoring the Allied troops fallen during Callipolis Campaign. The memorial ceremony, which was held in Lemnos island, was also attended by the Australian Ambassador in Greece Ms Jenny Bloomfield, the Ambassador of Canada Mr. Robert W. Peck, the Ambassador of New Zealand Dr. Trevor D. Matheson, the Deputy Chief of HNDGS Admiral Alexander Theodosiou HN and the Deputy Chief of the Australian Navy Rear Admiral Michael Van Balen. In the same context a wreath laying ceremony conducted at the Alliance Cemetery of Portianos, as well as at the monument to the Australians and New Zealanders soldiers fallen on the battle field.

Additionally, on April 8 2014, a meeting was conducted by Staff Offices of the Hellenic and the Australian Navy, with a view to promote the co-operation between both Navies.
