From Tuesday 09 April to Friday 12 April 2024, the Chief of the Bulgarian Navy Rear Admiral Kiril Mihaylov paid an official visit to Greece.
On Wednesday, April 10, an official reception was held at the Hellenic Navy General Staff by the Chief of General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios Eleftherios Kataras HN. This was followed by a briefing on the activities of the Hellenic Navy and a discussion on issues of mutual interest, with emphasis on the evolving situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea, as well as the further strengthening and expansion of bilateral cooperation between the Νavies of Greece and Bulgaria. Afterwards, the Chief of the Bulgarian Navy met with the Chief of Staff of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff,Lieutenant General Konstantinos Zolotas and with the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis.
In addition, as part of the official visit, the Chief of the Bulgarian Navy visited the Hellenic Navy Helicopter Base where he was shown the Helicopter Escape School (HELO DUNKER), the Fleet Headquarters Operations Center, the Eastern Mediterranean Command Headquarters, the Hellenic Naval Cadet School, the Fleet Headquarters and the Salamis Naval Base where he visited the Frigate HS KOUNTOURIOTIS, the Submarine HS PAPANIKOLIS and the Patrol Boat HS VLACHAKOS.
