On Tuesday, July 07 2020, a Special Cooperation Protocol was signed between the School of Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete and the Hellenic Naval Academy (SND) at the premises of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, forming the first stage of the creation of a Postgraduate Program in Maritime Studies Engineering – Marine Environmental Engineering”.
The Protocol was signed by the Dean of the Technical University of Crete, Evangelos Diamantopoulos, and the Commander of the HNA, Rear Admiral Ioannis Kalogeropoulos HN, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Mr. Vassilios Digalakis, and the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis HN. The event was also attended by Professors from the Technical University of Crete and HNA, as well as competent Directors of Branches and Directorates of General Staff of the Hellenic Navy .
The purpose of this program is to provide high level education and specialization to Greek and foreign students in the rapidly growing field of Marine Environmental Engineering. The program promotes cooperation between the Armed Forces, the academic community, international scientific organizations as well as industrial and business sectors.
