Weapon Firings from Naval and Air Force units attended by Chief of HNDGS

On Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020, the Chief of National Defense General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, accompanied by the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis ΗΝ and the Commander of the Hellenic Fleet, Rear Admiral Panagiotis Lymperis ΗΝ, boarded on the Frigate ΑΙGAION from where he attended operational training, conducted throughout the whole Area of HNDGS’s Responsibility.

As a culmination of this training on the morning of Wednesday, June 24, 2020, the Chief of HNDGS, along with the Chiefs of Hellenic Navy and Air Force, attended multiple  firings of  weapons against real surface target from units of the Hellenic Navy and Air Force, in the wider sea area south of Karpathos Island.

More specifically, the following firings took place:

One (1) RIM-7 Sea Sparrow Guided Missile from FFG LIMNOS.

One (1) AGM-114 HELLFIRE Guided Missile from the Helicopter S-70B AEGEAN HAWK.

Two (2) AGM-65 MAVERICK Guided Missile from F-16 Block 52+ Aircrafts

One (1) SST-4 Torpedo from a type 214 Submarine.

All firings were successful and resulted in the sinking of the target.
