Rear Admiral Leonidas Anagnostopoulos HN

Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Navy General Staff

Rear Admiral Leonidas Anagnostopoulos HN was born in Athens, Greece in 1967. He graduated from the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1989. In January 2024, he was promoted to Rear Admiral.

He has served in combat units of Hellenic Navy as a Duty/Warfare Officer and as a Director. He has served as a Commander/Captain of the HS PONTOS (S-119), and as a Commander/Captain in Auxiliary General Support Ship HS ALIAKMON (A-470).

He served as a Director of Personnel and Operations at the Submarine Command, Director of Education and Training in Hellenic Navy General Staff, and Director of Human Resources in Hellenic National Defense General Staff. In addition, he has served as a Director of Submarine Operations in COMSUBSOUTH of MC NAPLES. Finally, he has served as a Chief of Staff and Commander in the Submarine Command.

From January 24th 2024, he has assumed the duties of Deputy Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Navy.

Rear Admiral Leonidas Anagnostopoulos HN has passed through all the required career schools of Hellenic Navy and Armed Forces:

-Naval War College

-Supreme Joint Staff War College

-Hellenic National Defense College

He holds all required medals for his rank and also a commemoration of his participation in the inter-allied operation «Operation Unified Protector Libya».

He speaks English fluently.

Rear Admiral Leonidas Anagnostopoulos HN is married, and he is the father of two sons.
