Handover Ceremony for the Commander of Standing NATO Maritime Group Two to Greece

On Monday, June 29, 2026, the Handover Ceremony for the Commander of Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG2) took place at the Naval Base in Taranto, Italy.

Commodore Georgios Kypriotis HN assumed command from the Italian Rear Admiral (LH) Cristiane Nardone.

As part of Greece’s assumption of command of SNMG2, Hellenic Navy has assigned HS KOUNTOURIOTIS to serve as the flagship of the Commander, Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (COMSNMG2).
