History

Air-Cushion Landing Craft (PTM), type – KEFALONIA (Russian name ZUBR – NATO name POMORNIK), the largest in size air-cushion landing crafts in the world and constitute the fourth generation of air-rush vessels. HS KERKYRA is the fourth PTM received by the Hellenic Navy. It is of Russian origin and design according to the program 12322 . It’s construction began in 2003 at the shipyard of the company ALMAZ in St. Petersburg and was launched on 25-6-2004. Her arrival in Greece took place on 22-12-2004. Her accession to the Hellenic Navy as well as the raising of the Flag took place on 4-1-2005 under the command of Lieutenant Commander H. Kouklakis HN.
