The upper left part of the crest depicts the double axe with bull's horns. Symbol of strength and overcoming error. The lower right part depicts the complex of propeller, anchor and a projectile, indicating the contribution of the Naval Base in maintaining the seaworthiness and the combat effectiveness of the Hellenic Warships.
Technical Characteristics
History
- Oil Tanker HS ZEFS (Α-375), whose international call sign is SZBW, has been built at Greek Skaramanga Shipyards.
- The ship was launched on 19th of August in 1988 and It has been received by the Hellenic Navy on the 27th of February in 1989.
- The ship has since been assigned to the auxiliary ships of the Navy’s Logistics Command, docked at Souda Naval Base, remaining in commission to this day, having the mission of carrying out fuel, lubricant and feed/ drinking water supplies of the Hellenic warships as well as of the Armed Forces bases.
- Her name comes from the ancient Greek mythology, in which Zeus, son of Cronus and Rea, had been the father of all gods and men and ruled the Olympian gods.
