History

One of six of this type purchased from the Norwegian shipyards at Mandal. Year of construction 1966-67. It was received on November 21, 1966 by Lieutenant Theofilopoulos. These ships, which formed the Navy’s first Torpedo Flotilla, were the first vessels built, post-war, by order of the Greek Navy and at the expense of the Greek Government. He sailed with HNIOHOS from Norway on December 21, 1966 and they arrived in Greece on February 6, 1967 after an arduous journey of 47 days.
