On Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Hellenic Naval Academy (HNA) in the presence of the Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikos Dendias, took place the ceremony of handing over – receiving the duties of Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff (HNGS) from Admiral Ioannis Drymousis HN, to Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, members of the Hellenic Parliament, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) General Dimitrios Choupis, His Eminence Metropolitan of Piraeus Seraphim, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff (HAGS) Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS) Lieutenant General Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, the Commandant of the Hellenic Coast Guard Vice Admiral HCG Georgios Alexandrakis, National Security Advisor Mr. Thanos Dokos, Honorary Chiefs of the Hellenic General Staff of the Armed Forces, members of the Supreme Naval Council, Senior Officers, delegations of Officers and NCOs of the Hellenic Armed Forces, Defence Attaches and delegations of foreign states, retired Navy officers, as well as other guests.
