On Tuesday 15 May 2018, in the context of his official visit to Greece, the Minister of National Defence of Romania Mr. Mihai- Viorel Fifor, accompanied by the Chief of HNGS Vice Admiral Nikolaos Tsounis HN visited the Hellenic Navy’s Detachment in Hellenic Shipyards (Skaramagkas area), where he was briefed about the programs regarding the construction and upgrade of submarines.
Afterwards, the Minister of National Defence of Romania visited the Damage Control School, where he met with the Commander of Naval Education and Training Command Rear Admiral E. Mikros HN and was briefed about the capabilities of the PALASKAS Training Centre in Skaramagkas area.
Finally, he visited the Hellenic Fleet Headquarters in Salamis Naval Base, where he met with the Chief of the Hellenic Fleet Vice Admiral Ioannis G. Pavlopoulos HN. He was briefed about the capabilities and the activities of the Hellenic Fleet and had a tour on the submarine simulator, as well as on several warships.
During his visits, he was accompanied by the Chief of The Romanian Naval Forces Vice Admiral Alexandru Mirsu Ph.D and the Chief of The Romanian Air Forces Air Flotilla General Viorel Pana.
