History

The vessel is of the Offshore Tug category. Built in 1988 in Rostock, East Germany by the VEB Shipyards, on behalf of the East German Navy. It was launched on 30-4-1988 and activated in 1989. Its main mission was to deal with Fires and Leaks on other Ships, Search and Rescue, as well as assisting partner ships.It was named “WUSTROW” and is the first Ship of the class “ZANDER”. The tug was in full service throughout the years until decommissioning in December 2010. Received in November 2011 by the Navy. Towed by private offshore tug from Wilhelmshaven port to Piraeus port.The Flag Raising Ceremony took place on September 19, 2012 at Salamis Naval Station.  Call sign number: SZFY.Navy number: Α 443.
