On Thursday October 20th 2022, Commander of the Surface Flotilla, Commodore Tim Neild RN, accompanied by the military attaché of UK in Greece, Captain Alex Bush RN, visited the Hellenic Fleet Headquarters at Salamis Naval Base. During their visit they were received by the Commander in Chief of the Hellenic Fleet, Vice Admiral Panagiotis Lymperis HN, were matters of mutual interests were discussed.
Furthermore, commemorating 79 years from the sinking of HMS HURWORTH, which was struck by a mine during WW2, wreaths were laid upon the dedicated memorial monument within Salamis Naval Base, by Commodore Tim Neil RN and the Commandant of Salamis Naval Base, Commodore Vasileios Vasilogiannakopoulos HN.
