Hellenic Navy Special Forces Command hosts the “AEGEAN SEAL 22-I” Multinational Exercise

 

From Monday 10th to Saturday 22nd of October 2022, the multinational exercise «AEGEAN SEAL 22-Ι» was carried out in the sea area of the Saronic and South Euboean Gulf.

The exercise was conducted by the Hellenic Navy Special Operations Command and it’ s main objective was Naval Special Operations and more specifically pre-landing operations of mine tracing in Very Shallow Waters (VSW), as well as in Explosive Ordnance Disposals / Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices (EOD/C-IED). The combined training serials were carried out by Mine Neutralizing Squads, with personnel and assets from Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Latvia and Poland. In addition, helicopters from the Naval Aviation Command and the 4th Hellenic Army Aviation Battalion were utilized.

During the exercise, on Wednesday 12th October 2022, the Commander in Chief of the Hellenic Fleet, Vice Admiral Panagiotis Lymperis HN, visited South Euboea Naval Base, where he was briefed by the Commandant of the Special Operations Command, Captain Konstantinos Nassopoulos HN.

Exercise «AEGEAN SEAL», is an INVITEX type activity organized by the Hellenic Navy, which includes the aforementioned special training objects, focusing on the utilization of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and modern means. The conducted training contributed to further advancement of operational readiness, combat effectiveness, cooperation and interoperability of the participants.
