Conference of Chiefs of European Navies CHENS 2024

The Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN participated in the annual Conference of Chiefs of European Navies (CHENS 2024), was organized by the Slovenian Navy in Kran, from Wednesday 08 to Friday 10, May 2024.

The CHENS Summit is an open communication forum aimed at promoting cooperation and exchanging opinions among the Naval Chiefs.

The Chiefs were welcomed by the Chief of the Slovenian Navy, Captain Bogomir Tomazic, while the opening of the Summit was announced by the Chief of the Armed Forces of Slovenia Lieutenant General Robert Glavas. The main theme of this year’s CHENS was maritime threats and cyber challenges.

On the sidelines of the Summit, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff had bilateral meetings with the Commander of the Joint Force Command Naples (JFC NAPLES) Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, the Commander of NATO’s Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) Vice Admiral Mike Utley, Admiral Sir Ben Key from United Kingdom, Admiral Enrico Credendino from Italy, Captain Bogomir Tomazic from Slovenia, Admiral Xavier Baudouard Inspector General of the French Armed Forces, to discuss issues of mutual interest and prospects for further development of cooperation.

The next CHENS 2025 Summit is scheduled to be held in Latvia.
