Multinational Minewarfare Exercise ‘Ariadne 20’

    Multinational minewarfare exercise ‘Ariadne 20’ was hosted by Greece from 19th until 26th June 2020, in the sea area of Patras Gulf.

    The aforementioned exercise is conducted annually aiming to enhance mine countermeasures interoperability amongst NATO Allies and to promote operational capability and readiness of participating units.

    Hellenic Navy participated with Frigate ADRIAS as flagship of Commander Hellenic Minewarfare Command, Captain Theodore Alexopoulos HN, Minehunters KALLISTO and EVROPI and Gunboat NAVMACHOS.

    Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG2) under the General Support Ship ALIAKMON as flagship participated as well,  along with  Romanian Maritime Hydrographic Vessel RΟS A. CATUNEANU, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Teams and fighter aircrafts of Hellenic Air Force.
