Rear Admiral of Economics Georgios Skrekas HN was born in Volos, Magnesia in 1964. He received a degree from the Higher Industrial School of Thessaloniki in 1987, was admitted to the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1988, from which he graduated and was named Ensign of Economics in 1989.
He has served for a period of more than five (5) years in warships of surface of the Hellenic fleet, for more than twenty (20) years in various services of the Hellenic Navy as a staff officer as well as a Director of Inventory Forecasting at the Navy Supply Center (1200 / NSC), Director of Financial Services (DFS) at the Naval Hospital of Athens, Chairman of the Supreme Procurement Committee (SPC), Director of Computerization (K600) of the Navy Supply Center and Financial Director, Inspector of the Hellenic Navy General Staff (GEPN/GEN). As a senior officer, he performed the duties of Commander of the Navy Supply Center, Director of E/GES (DKE/YEN) branches and Director of Financial Services and Financial Inspection of the Hellenic Navy General Staff (DFS/FI/HNGS) a position in which he remains after his promotion to Rear Admiral (O) on 1-3-2023.
He has passed through all the prescribed career schools while he holds degrees from the School of Computer Analysts – Programmers and the National Defense School (NDS). He holds all the medals of the Hellenic Armed Forces provided for by his rank. He is married to Aikaterini Toliopoulou and is the father of one daughter and two sons.
He speaks fluent English.
