Crest

It depicts a homing missile and a seagull, both flying near the water surface. This depiction implies the speed and the firing power which this particular type of boat had when she had on board EXOCET type missiles. From 10/06/2021 it was renamed to ‘GUNBOAT BOTSHS’ and was reassigned to the ‘Hellenic Surveillance Ships Command’ while maintaining the same crest.

History

The Fast Patrol Boat VOTSIS is the first of four boats which where received from the the German Navy. Former STORCH class (S-52) now a COMBATTANTE II A type boat (TIGER CLASS S-148)

She raised the Greek Flag on February 18 1994 and joined the ‘Hellenic Navy Fast Boat Command’ force.

She was named ‘’VOTSIS’’ from the Lieutenant ‘Nikolaos Votsis’, captain of the torpedo boat ‘T-11’ which sunk the Turkish warship ‘Fetih Bulen’ on 17-10-1912 in the Gulf of ‘Thermaikos’.
