History

It is one of the five chariot ships that was built at Elefsina Shipyards on the order of the Ministry of National Defence. It was launched on October 6, 1999 and delivered to the Greek Navy in May 2000, with the first commander being  Lieutenant Colonel  N. Kalatzopoulos HN.
